Applications

Calcit THERMOBOND is used for external thermal insulation of structures. THERMOBOND glue is suitable for gluing heat-insulating boards made of expanded or expanded polystyrene, rockwool, polyurethane, etc. on the exteriors of buildings on concrete, plaster or brick masonry surfaces. In addition, reinforced with glass mesh, it is used to cover the heat-insulating plates and is thus the ideal substrate for the plaster that will follow.

Properties

Calcit THERMOBOND is a fiber-reinforced cement-based adhesive reinforced with polymer components (resins). It provides flexibility, moisture resistance and long open bonding time. THERMOBOND glue is suitable for gluing heat-insulating boards made of expanded or expanded polystyrene, rockwool, polyurethane, etc. on the external faces of buildings on surfaces made of concrete, plaster or brick masonry. It is classified as a GPCSIV type mortar, W2 according to EN 998-1 and as a C2E type adhesive according to EN 12004.

Instructions for Use

A. Substrate:

The substrate must be clean, free of dust, oil and loose surfaces. Before its application it is recommended to wet it.

B. Application:

As glue: Mix the contents with water until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Let the mixture "ripen" and stir again. On smooth substrates: spread the glue on the heat-insulating plate and comb it with a toothed spatula so that it is evenly distributed over the entire surface. On uneven substrates: we apply the glue with a trowel on the perimeter of the heat-insulating plate and on selective points in its center. Then we place the thermal insulation plates by pressing them to the point of their desired position.

As a reinforced mortar: Initially, the product is applied with a notched trowel to a thickness of 3 mm. While the layer is still fresh, place the glass mesh and press with a smooth spatula so that it is completely encased in the glue. At the end, smooth the surface and remove the excess glue.
